ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” Las Vegas tribute show keeps going strong in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
In addition to being one of the biggest selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Alexa “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at Las Vegas Neil Diamond tribute 2025 schedule the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
